The art of a long exhale
A letter from the Ligurian coast 🤍
Thank you for being here. It feels lovely to send you this first little letter.
I’m writing from Liguria, where we’re spending our autumn holiday as a family: climbing above the sea, swimming, and lingering over long Italian meals. Mosca comes everywhere with us, including restaurants, while Mila is enjoying her own mountain adventures with good friends back in Hemsedal.
Magnus and Liam both tower above me now. With my husband working away and our busy schedules, a whole week together feels precious.
I’m soaking up the Mediterranean warmth before heading home to crisp mountain air. And hoping to bring a little of this slower pace with me.
The art of a long exhale
When I’m climbing, I often let out one long, slow breath before a difficult move. At home, I try to remember that same pause whenever I notice I’ve been holding my breath.
Try it with me: rest one hand on your heart and one on your belly, if that feels comfortable. Breathe in gently through your nose, then slowly out through your mouth. Repeat a few times, without forcing it.
A small pause you can take almost anywhere.
If you try it this week, I’d love to hear how it feels. Just hit reply—I read every message.

Coming home
Soon I’ll be back to walks with both dogs, my yoga mat, days at the medical office, and a few pages of my memoir whenever I can find a quiet moment.
Autumn also brings some lovely opportunities to practise together. Finse and Fuerteventura are now fully booked—thank you to everyone joining me. There’s still a chance to meet on the mat in Oslo:
RESET · 31 October from 09:00-11:00 & 1 November from 09:00-11:00 · MA Studio, Oslo I'm delighted to be partnering with the wonderful team at Studio Mā to welcome you to RESET - an intimate weekend workshop designed to help you slow down, regulate your nervous system and restore balance through mindful movement, breath and deep rest. I’m also creating my own online wellness space, with live and on-demand classes and one-to-one mentoring and coaching for more personal support. It’s still taking shape, and you’ll be the first to hear more.
Until then, take your time over lunch when you can. And when you need a pause, come back to your breath.
With warmth from the Italian coast, Rebecca
